Kenya Airways gain1% as staff strike subsides
Nairobi -- Kenya Airways Ltd., sub-Saharan Africa’s third-biggest airline, rose 1 percent as management and the aviation industry union reached a pay deal yesterday, ending a two-strike that canceled and delayed flights over the weekend.
Its shares climbed 0.25 shillings to 25 shillings as of 10:20 a.m. in Nairobi today.
Staff agreed to return to work after the Aviation and Allied Workers Union reached an agreement to increase pay by 20 percent, split over two years, Chief Executive Officer Titus Naikuni said yesterday.
