Senegal, Royal Air Maroc to launch new airline
DAKAR (Reuters) - Royal Air Maroc (RAM) and the Senegalese government, shareholders in failed airline Air Senegal International (ASI), will create a new carrier to be run by Senegal, the two parties said on Friday. RAM, majority shareholder in ASI, pulled its last two aircraft from the fleet last month amid a dispute about management. "The new airline will start operations as soon as possible," the two parties said in a joint statement. The new company will be managed by Senegal's newly created ministry of international cooperation, infrastructure and aviation.
