Ethiopian Aviation Academy graduates 21 trainee pilots

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia — The Ethiopian Aviation Academy operating under the auspices of Ethiopian Airlines

here on Thursday graduated 21 trainee pilots with diplomas upon completion of a two-year training.

 

Speaking at the occasion, Manager of the Pilot Training School

Capitan Lemma Tekalegn said the graduates have taken 695 hours of class instruction and 200 hours of practical flight training both on Single and Multi-Engine aircrafts in the course of their training.

 

Among the graduates 18 are fully sponsored by Ethiopian and 3 pilot trainees are sponsored by the government of Djibouti, he said.

Strategic Business Unit Executive Vice President with Ethiopian, Kinfe Kahssay handed over diplomas to the graduates and special awards to outstanding ones.

The graduates bring the total number of graduates from the academy to 863 out of which 560 are Ethiopians and 303 of them are foreigners drawn from Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
